We have had beautiful weather today. It is that after-the-storm blue sky. Four buses full of excited campers arrived right on time. We got them into the dining hall for a quick orientation and then sent them out to their first activities.

We have 90-minute activity periods, and the campers rotate through the activities in teams. Today, the teams had the following activities.

Blue Team: Zip line and Crafts

Orange Team: Crafts and Orienteering

Purple Team: Orienteering and Climbing

Gray Team: Climbing and Archery

Green Team: Archery and Giant Swing

This session’s craft was a woven water bottle holder, letting campers get creative while making something useful for their trip. For orienteering, they practiced map skills to track down hidden clues around camp. If they found all the clues, they could try to solve a puzzle. It's a fun mix of challenge and adventure.

For our final activity period, all of the campers played a game called Sushi Go together. It has been modified from the popular board games to be an outdoor game.

The campers have had a chance to take a shower and are now having their dinner. After dinner, they have a short time to write in their journals before we have our opening Campfire. We will play a few games and sing a few songs, and of course, we will end the night by roasting marshmallows for s'mores.

That is all for tonight. Be sure to check out the pictures for the day at the link below. Please note that the password will change when the next group comes to camp, so remember to download the pictures you want to keep.
