Dear Parents,
We are very excited to be able to stay at camp all week. Monday and Tuesday had fantastic weather and the rainy weather started today. It is not constant rain. We get about 10 minutes of rain and then no rain for awhile -- and repeat. All the teams finished their core activities this morning and tomorrow we have a new secondary activity rotation they will start. This new rotation gives them some outdoor activities balanced with indoor activities. The plan today was to let them get outside to finish the core activities in the morning, let them dry off during the lunch time rest session, and then keep them dry the rest of the day.
The good news about the weather is two-fold -- one, the wind has not been an issue, and, two, the cooler weather has meant the campers are sleeping in until the morning bell -- much to the delight of the counselors!
Teams followed this schedule today.
Red Team: Giant swing, cooperative games, lunch, tent time, wide game
Orange Team: Sports, giant swing, lunch, tent time, wide game
Brown Team: Ecology, sports, lunch, tent time, wide game
Yellow Team: Archery, river hike, lunch, tent time, wide game
Pink Team: River hike, ecology, lunch, tent time, wide game
Gray Team (Teens): Giant ladder, table games, lunch, tent time, wide game
Campers are getting cleaned up before dinner and and journals. Tonight's evening program is movie night. It is a great activity for a wet night. We do movie nights halfway through camp to let campers catch up on their rest a little so they are energized for the last half of camp!
