Dear Parents,
We had a great second day of session six despite having to delay our afternoon activities by about 30 minutes. Luckily, what sounded like a big storm in Taipei never made it all the way over the mountains to our little valley. The day started with great weather in the morning and happy campers waking up to the sounds of nature. After morning meetings, campers organized their things for the day ahead and then made their way to the main hall for breakfast. After breakfast, teams continued on their core activity rotation with two activities in the morning and two more after lunch.
Campers followed this schedule.
Gray Team: Rock climbing, giant swing, lunch, wide game, tent time
Yellow Team: Archery, river tracing, lunch, wide game, tent time
Red Team: River tracing, archery, lunch, wide game, tent time
Blue Team: Giant swing, rock climbing, lunch, wide game, tent time
Purple Team (mini campers): Shrimping, pool play, lunch, crafts, slackline
Tent time is a chance for the campers in smaller groups to choose an activity just for their tentmates and counselor. Some will play badminton, some will do an extra craft, and some will even paint the camp car in water colors. I can't wait to see how they decorate it.
Soon campers will head back to their tents to take showers and get ready for dinner. After dinner and journals, we will have our evening program.
Goodbye from Camp Taiwan,
Mike
As for the Dropbox link below, not all folders will have pictures added every day. The first few days, most pictures are sorted by team, not activity. Some activities lead to more picture taking opportunities. If some teams have more pictures than other teams, we will try and even it out by the end of the week (but no promises!!). We do our best, but our main concern is your campers' safety and programming, pictures are a distant fourth or fifth (even though they may be number one to you). Please note, we will not reply to emails about photos. Enjoy.
Please find a Dropbox Link below. Photos will be uploaded to this folder every evening -- usually by 8 p.m.
