Session 6 Day 3: Midweek

It has been another great day at Camp Taiwan. So far, it has been a great group of kids. They have been reasonably well behaved and seem to be having fun and participating enthusiastically. We continued with our regular rotations today. We will finish up the regular rotations tomorrow morning, and then we will begin free choice activities. More about that tomorrow. Today, the youth campers had the following activities:

Green team: Archery, climbing, and cooperative games

Orange team: Sports, cooperative games, and climbing

Pink team: Crafts, pond play, and table-top games

Blue team: Giant swing, table-top games, and pond play

For the final activity period, we had a wide game modeled on the board game Sushi Go! Campers get cards with pictures of sushi on them, and they have to gather together in groups with specific cards to make a bento. All the while, the counselors are trying to tag them. However, counselors can only "eat" individual sushi. They cannot eat campers that have formed into a bento. It is a little hard to explain, but it is lots of fun and the kids get some good exercise.

The teens (Purple team) had a big day today. This was the day that they went kayaking at the beach. They left immediately after breakfast and got back just in time for lunch. In addition to kayaking, they went swimming and did a variety of beach activities. Reports were that the water was clear and clean and everyone had a good time.

In the afternoon, they had sports and giant swing. They played pillow polo, which I described the other day. They came down the hill pretty much exhausted, but full of smiles.

It is mid-week and the kids have been going strong for 3 days. Tonight, they will get a chance to kick back for our weekly movie night.

That is all for today. Please enjoy the photos.
