In the first half of the day, we finished off our regular rotations. The green team frolicked in the pond, and then dried off with a period of table-top games. The Orange team did just the reverse, beginning with the games before cooling off in the pond. Pink team had cooperative games in the morning, and then they moved to climbing. I have to say, some of those pink team girls really scrambled up that wall. Blue team started with climbing and then did cooperative games.
After lunch, the youth campers began their free choice activities. This is where they get to try their favorite activities a second time or try one of several new activities we offer. So as you look through the photos, in addition to the regular team photos, you will have to look through additional photos in activity folders to find pictures of your children.
For their last activity period, they played the weekly water games. This consists of a series of water relay games and races, all of which are designed to get everyone wet. (Such as passing cups of water overhead to fill a bucket at the end of the line.) They are a blast and a great way to cool off. They also played "volleyball" with a huge inflatable ball.
The teens (Purple team) had their big-river tracing trip today. This is another one of the Teen Camp adventures, and everyone looks forward to it. When they came back, they joined the youth campers for the water games.
Tonight we have our party night. This is where we turn the Dining Hall into a big party with carnival type games and serve shaved ice. It is one of the high points of the week and it ends with a big dance party.
That is all for tonight. Here is the link for the photos. By the way, my apologies for the broken link yesterday. If you didn't get to see yesterday's photos, be sure to do so. The link works now.
