We have been extremely lucky with the weather so far this week. Except for a short shower on Tuesday, we have had nice weather all week. We are even getting a little cloud cover in the afternoon to take the edge off the sun. I hope I haven't spoiled it by saying that.
We finished up our regular activity rotation today. The Teams did the following activities in the morning.
Red team: Crafts and table-top games
Pink team: Table-top games
Light Blue team: Cooperative games and climbing
Green team: Climbing and archery
Orange team: Archery and crafts
Now that our regular activity rotation is finished, we have moved onto our free-choice activities. Campers get to choose to do their favorite activities a second time or choose one of several activities that are not in our regular rotation. Two of these activities are pond play and zip lining. Our zip line is another of our most popular activities for those that dare. The campers go careening across the campus from the parking lot to over the spider web.
Pond play is just what it sounds like. We have a small cement pond here and kids and counselors get in and splash around with various water toys. We also have a slip-n-slide that is lots of fun.
When you are looking through the pictures, you will find pictures from the first half of the day in the color team photos. For photos of the later half of the day, you will have to look through the activity folders until you find you child.
There is also a folder of whole camp activities. Today, we had our weekly water wide game; hence the name of this post. They played "Gold Rush" where they have to get pieces of gold (ball pool balls) back to a base without being caught by a counselor with a water gun. It is a fun way to cool off on a hot day. They ended the period with a big water balloon fight.
Tonight we will have our party night. We play carnival type games and end the night with a big dance party.
That is all for tonight. Here is the link to the day's photos.
