TES French Section CE2

Updated: May 21

We received two buses of smiling campers on a beautiful sunny morning. After a brief orientation, they played a series of cooperative games together.

After a lunch of spaghetti and quesadillas, the campers had a rest period before joining their group activities for the day. Both groups got to try their hand at archery. The counselors go over a brief safety talk and give some basic instructions, followed by a bit of practice time. There is usually time for a friendly competition before wrapping up.

They also tested their bravery on Camp Taiwan's legendary Giant Swing. This is one of the highlights of the trip for many of the campers. Each camper is suspended in a climbing harness. They are then pulled back in an arc as far as they dare to go. (Each camper gets to decide how far is too far.) They then pull the release and swing into the blue. It is great fun (but completely safe.)

The campers are currently showering and resting before dinner. After dinner, we will have our campfire program, ending with the customary roasting of marshmallows and making of s'mores.

Good night from Camp Taiwan
