It’s been another beautiful day in the mountains of Wanli. The weather has been warm, with a gentle breeze to keep us cool and just enough clouds to soften the sun’s rays—perfect camp weather.

Last night’s campfire was a highlight. The sky was clear, the stars were out, and we were able to gather outside, which always makes it more special. The kids joined in with great enthusiasm, filling the night with laughter, songs, and just the right amount of noise.

This morning kicked off a full day of exciting activities. Here’s what each team did:

Red Team: River tracing, tie-dye, giant swing

Green Team: Tie-dye, giant swing, cooperative games

Purple Team: Giant swing, river tracing, climbing

Orange Team: Cooperative games, climbing, archery

Blue Team: Climbing, archery, zip line

For the fourth activity period, we held a camp-wide game known as a “wide game.” Today’s was Hunt and Chase. Like Rainbow Tag, campers were divided into new teams and given colored bandanas to hang from their pockets. Each team had a designated color they needed to catch—but here’s the twist: when a camper loses their bandana to another, they join the team that caught them. Unlike Rainbow Tag, which is every camper for themselves, Hunt and Chase is all about teamwork. The team with the most members at the end wins.

After the wide game, campers had time to shower before heading to dinner. They’ve now finished eating and are writing in their journals.

Tonight’s big event is an outdoor game called Bigfoot. It is a game that pits the campers against the counselors in a kind of a cross between hide and seek and tag. When a camper finds a counselor, they have to challenge them with a poker card. When one camper defeats a counselor, the game is over. Obviously, there is a little more to it than that, but I will leave that for your children to tell you.

That is all for today. Here is the link to the Dropbox folder. Remember to download the pictures you wish to keep. Dropbox link.

Want More Camp Taiwan?

If your child enjoyed their stay at Camp Taiwan and you want a bit more, there are a couple of options.

Summer Camp

We have weekly sessions of our regular English summer camp in July and August and our Mandarin program from June 7th to 11th. Summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop confidence and independence by trying new things in a supportive atmosphere.

Family Camp

Family Camps are a way for the whole family to share in the fun and adventure of Camp Taiwan. Groups of 10 to 15 families ( Minimum 40 people) book the whole site and come share in the activities that your children have been telling you about. It is a great way to get to know the families of your child's classmates or your coworkers.
