It has been a beautiful day at Camp Taiwan! The sun was out for most of the day, with just a few clouds drifting by and a gentle breeze to keep things comfortable. It was perfect weather for a full schedule of outdoor fun.

Campers were grouped into their color teams and rotated through a variety of exciting activities. Each team stays together throughout their stay, building teamwork and making memories as they try new things side by side. Today’s schedule was packed, and every group made the most of it.

Here’s the activity schedule for each team:

Orange Team started their day climbing on the rock wall and spent the afternoon learning about the natural world in ecology, flying through the air on the giant swing, and testing their skills at the archery range.

Red Team began with ecology, followed by an afternoon of thrills and challenges: the giant swing, orienteering, and rock climbing.

Yellow Team kicked off their morning on the giant swing, then moved on to orienteering, archery, and ecology in the afternoon.

Green Team tackled orienteering first, then rotated through archery, rock climbing, and a high-flying finish on the giant swing.

Blue Team began with archery, then had a busy afternoon filled with rock climbing, ecology, and orienteering.

If you would like to know more about these activities, you can read a bit more about them here: https://www.camptaiwan.com.tw/activities One activity that needs a little description is orienteering. It starts in the dining hall with a brief introduction to understanding directions and a quick game. The campers are then given a map and a list of tasks that they need to perform around camp. Finally, it ends back in the dining hall where campers must complete a puzzle. It is a lot of fun and the kids learn a skill that will last them a lifetime.

At the end of the day's activities, all the campers went down to the tent areas to take showers. They are now just finishing up their dinner. After dinner, they will spend a bit of time writing in their journals before gathering for one of our favorite traditions: the evening campfire. It’s a time to sing songs, perform skits, share laughs, and enjoy toasted marshmallows under the stars. The perfect way to wrap up a full and joyful day at camp.

That is all for now. Below is a link to a Dropbox folder. Please note that the password on this blog will change when the next group comes to Camp, so be sure to download any pictures you want to keep.

Want More Camp Taiwan?

If your child enjoyed their stay at Camp Taiwan and you want a bit more, there are a couple of options.

Summer Camp

We have weekly sessions of our regular English summer camp in July and August and our Mandarin program from June 7th to 11th. Summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop confidence and independence by trying new things in a supportive atmosphere.

Family Camp

Family Camps are a way for the whole family to share in the fun and adventure of Camp Taiwan. Groups of 10 to 15 families ( Minimum 40 people) book the whole site and come share in the activities that your children have been telling you about. It is a great way to get to know the families of your child's classmates or your coworkers.
