It has been a perfect day so far, weather-wise. It's a little on the warm side, but not scorching and there is a bit of a breeze to cool us off. Although it gets hot here, it is nothing like the heat in Taipei City.

The campers woke up at their usual 7:00 am. They have an hour to brush their teeth, get whatever they need for the day and have a tent meeting with their counselors before coming up for breakfast.

As I mentioned yesterday, we rotate through the activities in 90-minute activity periods. We have been trying to get everyone through the most popular outdoor activities yesterday and today so that we can do the indoor activities tomorrow. The campers had the following schedule.

Red and Pink Team: Giant Swing, Archery, Climbing, and Sports.

Orange Team: Cooperative Games, Sports, Giant Swing, and Zipline

Blue Team: River tracing, Zipline, Cooperative games, Climbing

Green: Archery, Giant Swing, Ecology, Cooperative games.

After their activity periods, they had a chance to shower before dinner. We are lucky that the good weather has continued into the evening so that we can play an outdoor game this evening.

This evening's game is Survival, one of our most exciting large-group games, turning the whole camp into a wild ecosystem for the afternoon. Campers are divided into three roles—herbivores, omnivores, and carnivores—each starting with a certain number of “lives” represented by flags or tokens. Herbivores roam the field trying to complete a series of missions, all while staying one step ahead of predators. Omnivores and carnivores, on the other hand, are hunting down other the herbivores and gathering resources. In the last few minutes, the humans (counselors) come out. They can hunt any of the the other groups, killing them with a stroke of their flashlight. The game is fast-paced, full of strategy, and keeps everyone on their toes until the very last minute.

That is all for tonight. Please remember to check out today's pictures.
