With the amount of exercise and fresh air campers have been getting, the tent areas are tranquil before the Wednesday morning breakfast bell as everyone wakes up from a deep, restorative night's rest.
More and more campers are participating in meal-time songs, and campers are mingling well during activities as familiarity level grows and initial shyness subsides.
Today's Activities Include:
Blue Team: Orienteering, Cooperative Games, and Climbing
Red Team: Giant Swing, Climbing, and Archery
Green Team: Crafts, Frisbee Golf, and Table Top Games
Orange Team: River Tracing, Table Top Games, and Cooperative Games
Gray Team: Teens will alternate between a half-day Kayaking, and then Orienteering and the Giant Swing
It has been another beautiful day, and campers have stayed sun-smart and hydrated throughout. They are just having dinner now, after which we will play our Wide Game: Capture the Crown! Campers will be divided into 2 teams, forming a Red Kingdom and a Blue Queendom. Counsellors will act as base leaders and distribute cards randomly from either a deck of blue cards or a deck of red cards, according to their team colour. Campers will then battle each other with the rank of their card determining the victor. One camper will even act as the “Secret Crown” whom ANYONE can defeat!
Later tonight, everyone will wind down together during Movie Night — a relaxed way to close out the middle of the week before we jump back into a full day of activities tomorrow.
As usual, there is a link to the Dropbox folder with pictures of the day below. If you are not sure what team your child is on, start with the tent pictures folder. When you find your child, note the color of the lanyard on their name-tag — that is their team color. Most of the pictures will be in that team's folder or in the whole-camp activity folder.
More updates coming soon — thanks for following along!
