HIA Day 1 – Zip, Swing, Shoot, and Splash!

HIA students arrived at camp at around 10:30 am under a beautiful sky — slightly overcast with occasional sun, perfect camp weather. After checking in, everyone sat down together for a delicious spaghetti lunch before jumping straight into three back-to-back rotation activities starting at 1:00 pm.
Today's activities included:
Orange Team: PM – Giant Swing, Archery, River Tracing
Green Team: PM – Archery, River Tracing, Zip Line
Blue Team: PM – River Tracing, Zip Line, Sports
Yellow Team: PM – Zip Line, Sports, Giant Swing
Brown Team: PM – Sports, Giant Swing, Archery

With a high of around 28 degrees, campers stayed well protected and hydrated through three full activity periods. Afterward, everyone enjoyed a warm shower and got cleaned up before coming together as a full camp for the evening, starting with a yummy dinner or course!
Day 1 finished up with our campfire, where campers sang songs and played games together, and roasted marshmallows for s'mores under the stars. Temperatures dropped to a comfortable 22 degrees tonight, making for great campfire weather and even better sleeping.
