It has been a great start to this year's trip to camp. Six buses of smiling campers rolled into camp full of enthusiasm. We got them checked into their tents and brought them up to the dining hall for a quick orientation and a snack before our first activity period.
We have four 90-minute activity periods a day, two in the morning and two in the afternoon. This morning our first period was taken by getting to camp and getting checked in, so we had one more period before lunch and two in the afternoon. The campers had the following schedules:
Blue Team: Zipline, Big river tracing
Red Team: Cooperative games, Big river tracing
Gray team: Giant Swing, Archery, cooperative games
Orange team: Cooperative Games, Giant Swing, Archery
Green Team: Sports, Cooperative Games, Giant Swing
Yellow Team: Archery, Sports, Tie dye
The big river is a longer trip than our regular river tracing trips that the campers did in year 3 and 4, so it takes two activity periods. If you want to know more about these activities, there is a description of some of them on this page: https://www.camptaiwan.com.tw/activities
The campers are just sitting down to dinner right now. After dinner, they will have a bit of time to write in their journals. Then we will have our evening program. Tonight that is our introductory campfire. We have some traditional songs and games planned. And of course, it wouldn't be a campfire without roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.
That is all for tonight. Please be sure to check out the pictures. They are sorted by team, so most or all of the pictures of your child should be in a single folder, unless they went river tracing. Don't forget that access to this blog will end when the next school arrives at camp, so please download any pictures that you wish to keep.
