TAS Grade 5 Group 1 Day 2

It has been another beautiful fall day here at Camp. We have really gotten lucky with the weather and postponing the camp for a day seems to have been a very good choice. Thank you to TAS management and to all the parents for being flexible.

The kids were up bright and early this morning, and they were full of energy. We gave them a good breakfast and ushered them off to their first activities. Hopefully, you were able to find your child in the pictures yesterday, so you know what team they are on. Today, they had the following schedule.

Blue Team: Orienteering, Climbing, and Archery

Orange Team: Climbing, Archery, and Giant Swing

Purple Team: Archery, Giant Swing, and Ecology

Gray Team: Giant Swing, Ecology, Zip line

Green Team: Ecology, Zip line, Crafts

For the final activity period, we had a water wide game activity. We divided the whole camp into four groups and they competed in a variety of challenges that involve splashing, spraying or otherwise getting wet. It is a lot of fun and a great last activity on a hot afternoon.

Right after the water game, they campers went back to their tent areas for a shower before dinner. They are eating now, and, like last night, will have a chance to do a little writing in their journals before our evening program.

Tonight, we will have our party night for the evening program. The teachers and counselors operate a number of booths that have games like you would find in an American carnival or Taiwanese night market. At the end of the night, we turn up the music and it turns into a big dance party. It is one of the favorite nighttime activities here at Camp.
