TAS Grade 4 Group 1 Day 2:

We woke up to a rainy morning here at Camp Taiwan, but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We rearranged the schedule so that our afternoon camp-wide was in the morning, and we did some relay games inside. By the end of the first activity period, the rain had almost stopped, so we were able to go out and complete our regular schedule.
Today, the different color teams had the following schedule. Hopefully, you were able to find pictures of your campers on my previous blog post. If so, you should know what team they are on.
Red Team: Crafts (Tie Dye), Shrimping, and Giant Swing.
Green Team: Archery, Crafts (Tie Dye), cooperative games.
Purple Team: Cooperative games, Archery, Climbing
Orange Team: Climbing, cooperative games, Archery
Blue Team: Shrimping, Climbing, Zip Line.
In case you are wondering what shrimping is, let me explain. Around Camp there are several small pools and streams. It is great fun for the kids to explore and catch fresh water shrimp, crabs, and the occasional small fish.
The weather improved as the day went on and by afternoon, it was quite nice, although still overcast.
The campers have had a chance to shower and get warm and dry. They are just finishing dinner now. Like last night, they will have a little time to write in their journals, and then we will have a night game. We will play Bigfoot. It is a strategy game that pits the counselors against the campers. It is a great exercise in cooperation and critical thinking. I won't say any more. You can ask you child to explain it to you.
Again, there is a Dropbox link to the day's photos. We hope you enjoy sharing in your campers' adventures. Dropbox
Want More Camp Taiwan?
If your child enjoyed their stay at Camp Taiwan and you want a bit more, there are a couple of options.
Summer Camp
We have weekly sessions of our regular English summer camp in July and August and our Mandarin program from June 7th to 11th. Summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop confidence and independence by trying new things in a supportive atmosphere.
Family Camp
Family Camps are a way for the whole family to share in the fun and adventure of Camp Taiwan. Groups of 10 to 15 families ( Minimum 40 people) book the whole site and come share in the activities that your children have been telling you about. It is a great way to get to know the families of your child's classmates or your coworkers.
