TAS Grade 3 Group 2 Day 1

It’s been a rainy day here at Camp Taiwan, but the weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the three busloads of campers who arrived this morning.

We’ve divided the campers into three teams: Brown, Gray, and Blue. Each team rotates through a series of activities in 90-minute blocks—one before lunch and three after.

Luckily, the rain let up just in time for the first activity period, so we were able to head outdoors. The Brown Team kicked things off with a climb up our 55-foot climbing wall. The Gray Team sharpened their skills at the archery range, while the Blue Team explored the many pools and puddles around camp to see what they could discover during the Ecology activity.

After a hearty lunch of quesadillas and rice, the rain picked up again, so we adjusted the schedule and brought everyone indoors for a round of relay games. Spirits stayed high, and by the next activity block, the campers had donned their rain gear and headed back outside.

The Brown Team spent the afternoon at archery and then tackled Orienteering—a fun and challenging activity where campers navigate with a map to complete tasks around camp before solving a final puzzle back at the dining hall.

Meanwhile, the Gray Team enjoyed archery followed by ecology, and the Blue Team took on the climbing wall before ending their day soaring through the air on the Giant Swing.

Although everyone got a bit wet, the campers stayed cheerful throughout the day. After the last activity period, they headed straight to their tents for a hot shower and some dry clothes. They’re now finishing up dinner and getting ready to write in their journals before our evening campfire. We’ll wrap up the day with songs, games, and of course, marshmallows and s’mores.

Want More Camp Taiwan?

If your child enjoyed their stay at Camp Taiwan and you want a bit more, there are a couple of options.

Summer Camp

We have weekly sessions of our regular English summer camp in July and August and our Mandarin program from June 7th to 11th. Summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop confidence and independence by trying new things in a supportive atmosphere.

Family Camp

Family Camps are a way for the whole family to share in the fun and adventure of Camp Taiwan. Groups of 10 to 15 families ( Minimum 40 people) book the whole site and come share in the activities that your children have been telling you about. It is a great way to get to know the families of your child's classmates or your coworkers.
