TAS Grade 2 Group 3

From the moment the buses pulled in this morning, the energy was undeniable. For most of the campers, this was their very first time at Camp Taiwan, and their enthusiasm set a lively tone for the day. The weather stayed dry despite the clouds. It was quite warm and a little on the muggy side, a sure sign summer is just around the corner.

For those unfamiliar with our daily routine, here’s how we operate: Campers are split into small groups—today we had five teams with around a dozen kids each. These groups rotated through a set of fun and engaging activities designed to encourage exploration, teamwork, and a bit of friendly competition.

Ecology: After a short introduction to the local ecosystem, the campers headed out with nets in hand, ready to explore. They came back with stories of butterflies, beetles, and dragonflies —each discovery sparking curiosity and conversation.

Bouldering: A safe and exciting intro to climbing, bouldering kept campers close to the ground while challenging them to problem-solve and support one another. Spotting partners offered encouragement and a helping hand, making it a true team effort.

Frisbee Golf: Campers learned the basics of throwing and aimed for targets scattered around the camp. It was a light-hearted but competitive game that had everyone cheering each other on.

Group Games: We wrapped in a few classic high-energy games to keep spirits high. These simple activities are always a hit with younger campers, letting them burn off extra energy while laughing together.

The day ended with a short ceremony recognizing each group’s efforts. We handed out a small award to the top team and gave a nod to all the campers for their great attitude and participation.

Thank you for letting us spend the day with your kids—it’s always a joy to see them dive into new experiences with such openness and joy. We have no doubt they’ll sleep well tonight!

Want More Camp Taiwan?

If your child enjoyed their stay at Camp Taiwan and you want a bit more, there are a couple of options.

Summer Camp

We have weekly sessions of our regular English summer camp in July and August and our Mandarin program from June 7th to 11th. Summer camp is a great opportunity for kids to develop confidence and independence by trying new things in a supportive atmosphere.

Family Camp

Family Camps are a way for the whole family to share in the fun and adventure of Camp Taiwan. Groups of 10 to 15 families ( Minimum 40 people) book the whole site and come share in the activities that your children have been telling you about. It is a great way to get to know the families of your child's classmates or your coworkers.
