Dear Parents,
We had an excellent start to the middle school TAAS camp. Kids arrived on time and immediately went to check into their cabins where they will be living all week. After a tour of their areas, campers gathered in the main hall to learn the rules of camp, have a snack, and check in with the camp nurse. Teams then worked on a Full Value Contract. Teams discussed what values they will try and exhibit during their week at camp to be good teammates and friends. They also came up with creative team names. The 6th graders are The Blue Monkeys and the 7th graders are NBA. After lunch, there were two activity periods -- teams followed this schedule.

Right now, campers are heading down to shower time. They will get cleaned up for dinner and journals and then we will have our opening campfire. Children will have the chance to sing songs, play games, and, of course, roast marshmallows for S'mores!
