Summer 2022 Session 1 Day 5

Writer's picture: MikeMike

Dear Parents,

The best weather so far this week greeted campers this morning on the last full day of camp. Beautiful blue skies and chirping birds made up for the heat as we gathered for breakfast and got ready for a busy day. Today campers had free choice of activities. Instead of rotating through activities with their teams, they were able to choose which activities they wanted to do.

Youth campers chose from zip line, board games, pond play, archery, and rock climbing. For archery and rock climbing, the second time doing the activity provided the opportunity to try and achieve a level sticker. There are different skills and knowledge which need to be demonstrated in order to earn a Level 1, 2, or 3 sticker in one of those disciplines. It is no shame in not achieving it, however. They are not easy and counselors do not just give them away. Good luck, everyone!

Soon, activities will be wrapping up and campers will begin to prepare for tonight's evening program -- the closing campfire. Each team will perform for the whole camp. We should see plenty of fun skits, songs, and surprises to conclude the last full day of camp!
