Summer 2020 Session 7 Day 2

Dear Parents,

The weather today was beautiful and unexpected. We had all prepared ourselves for scorching temperatures, but instead we had a cool breeze and scattered clouds that made camp a very comfortable place to be for day two of session seven. The campers started the day with their tent meetings. Counselors went over their schedules with them and made sure they were organized for their activities. Then it was time for a big breakfast to get the campers energized. Teams had two activities in the morning and then two more after lunch.

Campers followed this schedule.

Gray Team: Rock climbing, giant swing, lunch, wide game, tent time

Yellow Team: Archery, river tracing, lunch, wide game, tent time

Red Team: River tracing, archery, lunch, wide game, tent time

Blue Team: Giant swing, rock climbing, lunch, wide game, tent time

Purple Team (mini campers): Cooperative games, pond play, lunch, slackline, crafts

Tent time is an opportunity for youth campers to enjoy small activities with just their tent mates and counselors. It is a chance to do fun things that don't normally show up on our schedule. Some groups played badminton, others went looking for shrimp in the little river, and some even grabbed the paint and had a go at redecorating the camp car.

Campers are now having their showers now and will soon gather again in the main hall for dinner. After dinner and journals, campers will join in the evening program. Youth campers will have a night wide game tonight while our mini campers will play games in the lodge. After a long day of camp, everyone (including counselors) will be ready for a good night's sleep.

Goodbye from Camp Taiwan,

Mike

As for the Dropbox link below, not all folders will have pictures added every day. The first few days, most pictures are sorted by team, not activity. Some activities lead to more picture taking opportunities. If some teams have more pictures than other teams, we will try and even it out by the end of the week (but no promises!!). We do our best, but our main concern is your campers' safety and programming, pictures are a distant fourth or fifth (even though they may be number one to you). Please note, we will not reply to emails about photos. Enjoy.

Please find a Dropbox Link below. Photos will be uploaded to this folder every evening -- usually by 8 p.m.
