Summer 2020 Session 7 Day 1
We had a great start to our last session of Summer 2020. Buses left Taipei right on time with anxious and excited campers. Smiling counselors greeted them at camp and soon they were all making themselves at home. Campers unpacked, checked in with the nurse and had a little tour of their living areas. Then they played some warm up games and name games to better get to know their tent mates. Soon, we had all gathered in the main hall to go over some of the important rules of camp and have lunch. After lunch, the teams started on their core activity rotations.
Campers followed this schedule.
Gray Team: Check in, warm up games, lunch, archery, river tracing
Yellow Team: Check in, warm up games, lunch, rock climbing, giant swing
Red Team: Check in, warm up games, lunch, giant swing, rock climbing
Blue Team: Check in, warm up games, lunch, river tracing, archery
Purple Team (mini campers): Check in, warm up games, lunch, bouldering, shrimping
Right now campers are finishing up their final activity of the afternoon. They will head to their tent areas for showers and a quick rest before dinner. After dinner, campers get to write in their journals all about the first day of camp and then it is our evening program. Tonight's activity is the opening campfire. We will sing songs, play games and roast marshmallows for S'mores -- always a good way to end a long day at camp.
Goodbye from Camp Taiwan,
As for the Dropbox link below, not all folders will have pictures added every day. The first few days, most pictures are sorted by team, not activity. Some activities lead to more picture taking opportunities. If some teams have more pictures than other teams, we will try and even it out by the end of the week (but no promises!!). We do our best, but our main concern is your campers' safety and programming, pictures are a distant fourth or fifth (even though they may be number one to you). Please note, we will not reply to emails about photos. Enjoy.
Please find a Dropbox Link below. Photos will be uploaded to this folder every evening -- usually by 8 p.m.
