Our campfire last night was lots of fun. We had a silly skit put on by the counselors that was really popular with the campers. They also played a couple of games that got them all up and moving about. In the end, we sang a special camp song and had some delicious marshmallows.
We woke up to a beautiful morning. The sun was shining, and there was just a bit of a breeze blowing to cool it off a little bit.
We jumped right into our rotation activities for the day. The campers had the following schedules today.
Red Team: they started with crafts making a woven bracelet. Then they moved on to river tracing. After lunch they had an ecology lesson.
Pink Team: They started with river tracing and then had their ecology lesson. There are a lot of things to catch here, so ecology is a lot of fun. They had the giant swing in the afternoon, which is always a favorite.
Blue Team: Played sports in the morning and then had a low-key period with crafts. In the afternoon, they went river tracing.
Orange Team had Giant Swing first thing in the morning and then had their sports period. In the afternoon they did crafts.
Green Team started the day with ecology and giant swing in the morning and played sports in the afternoon.
Teens: The two teen groups alternated between zipline and cooperative games in the morning. In the afternoon, they again alternated, but this time they had Giant ladder and table-top games.
The youth campers had another wide game in the afternoon. Unfortunately, the beautiful weather did not hold for us and we had a light shower between periods. Luckily it tapered off enough to play the game.
They are just having dinner now. It looks like it will dry out enough to play an outdoor wide game this evening. We are hoping to play counselor hunt, which is hide and seek where the counselors hide and the campers have to find them. It is fun for both the campers and the counselors. Some of the counselors get really into it and come up with some creative hiding spots. If it rains, we have a back-up indoor game.
Speaking of weather, we are still keeping an eye on the typhoon. We expect that we will have to end camp early, but we are still uncertain whether we will send the kids home on Thursday evening or Friday after lunch. We will send out an email with more information tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon/evening.
Below are some photos of the day. Please remember to download the pictures you wish to keep.
That is all for tonight. We are looking forward to another fun-filled day tomorrow.
