We had our mid-week phone call today. Hopefully, your child's counselors were able to reach you.
Last night's game was a lot of fun. Some people asked for picture of the night time activities. The reason that we don't usually take pictures of the night games is that the lighting is not very good. This is especially true for last night's game, which was played in almost complete darkness.
This morning, we had two activity periods. The Brown Team had zipline and then crafts. The purple team had the same two activities, but in the reverse order. The craft was a woven water bottle handle, which will come in handy for the rest of the week.
This afternoon, we had a special trip. We arranged a cultural exchange with a nearby elementary school, where we learned about Dragon Boat festival and wrapped rice dumplings (粽子). It was a bit of a walk, so the kids got some exercise. We had a bit of a thunder storm while we were there, so we stayed a little while afterwards and played on the basketball court. We walked back when the rain had mostly stopped, although we did get a little wet. Fortunately, everyone had their rain coats.
The campers are taking a hot shower now and then they will come up for dinner. I bet you can guess what we are having for dinner. Zongzi! (And also some mini pizzas.)
Tonight is our movie night. The kids are tired from a busy week, so they will benefit from a quiet night. We put down some mats in the dining hall and make popcorn. Usually, a few of the kids fall asleep, which is fine. A big part of the reason for Movie Night is just to let them recharge a little.
That is all for tonight. I have posted a link to pictures below.
