It has been a bit of a wet day here, but it has actually been better than the forecast was predicting. It was kind of cloudy and foggy at times, and there were occasional showers, but it wasn't raining all day long and we were able to get outside and do all of our activities. Overall, we are happy with the weather so far.
Three buses of excited campers arrived just in time for us to show them their tents and get them into the dining room to go over a few rules and have a hearty lunch before heading off for their activities. We have 2 ninety minute activity periods in the morning and two more in the afternoon. The campers are divided into teams of 12 students per team, and each team is assigned a color. This afternoon, the teams had the following activities.
Blue Team: Archery and Climbing
Yellow Team: Zip Line and Giant Swing
Green Team: Giant Swing and Crafts
Orange Team: Crafts and Zip Line
The craft for this trip is a water bottle holder woven out of parachute cord. It is a useful item that campers can use during their stay and take home as a souvenir. For information on the rest of the activities, you can check out this page here: https://www.camptaiwan.com.tw/activities
After their last activity period, the campers had a chance to take a shower and have a little rest. They are now eating dinner. After dinner, they will have a bit of time to write in their journals before we have an indoor night game and roast marshmallows to make s'mores.
The campers are all doing well. They seem to have adjusted to being away from home and all seem in good spirits so far.
