Winter Camp Session 1, Day 1
Dear Parents,
We had a great start to Winter Camp 2020. It certainly didn't feel like winter weather, though, as sunny skies and warm temperatures gave camp more of a spring atmosphere. Kids and counselors didn't mind though as laughter and shouts of excitement rang out through camp. The day started in Taipei with the buses pulling out right on time for the journey to camp. Once at camp, smiling counselors greeted campers and led them to their rooms to get checked in. After unpacking, I met with the campers and went over the schedule for the next three days. I also went over the important camp rules. Soon, it was time to start activities. There was one activity before lunch and two more after. Teams followed this schedule.
Red Team: Check in, archery, lunch, rock climbing, wide game
Green Team: Check in, rock climbing, lunch, archery, wide game
Campers are in the middle of the wide game right now. Afterwards, they will return to the lodge for showers and rest before dinner. After dinner tonight, campers will have the chance to write in their journals all about their first day of camp. Then it is time for the evening program. Tonight is the opening campfire. We will sing songs, play games, and , of course, roast marshmallows for S'mores. It should be a great way to end a fun first day of winter camp.
Please find a link above to photos taken throughout the session. Counselors do their best to take as many quality photos as possible, but that is not their primary responsibility. Their main goal is to maintain camper safety and comfort and to make sure the kids are having a good time. Unfortunately, we cannot reply to any comments about photo taking.
Goodbye from Camp Taiwan,
Mike
