TES Y5 Group 2, Day 1
Dear Parents,
The rain of yesterday and last night mercifully gave way to mere clouds and drizzle as we welcomed our second group of Y5 campers this morning. As our new campers arrived the first group of campers were busy on their last activity rotation. We quickly took our new arrivals to check into their tents and then we gathered in the main hall and discussed the important camp safety rules. Campers ate a snack and those with meds checked in with the nurse. No time was wasted as campers then made their way to the spider web pavilion for a big group game with all the Y5 campers. Teams followed this schedule.
Orange Team: Check in, wide game, lunch, giant swing, survival
Blue Team: Check in, wide game, lunch, geo cache, giant swing
Gray Team: Check in, wide game, lunch, zip line, geo cache
Pink Team: Check in, wide game, lunch, tie dye, zip line
Campers are about to finish up the last activity of the afternoon. They will go take showers and have a quick rest before dinner time. After dinner, campers will have the chance to write about the first day in their journals. Then it is time for the evening program -- the opening campfire. We will sing songs, play games and roast marshmallows for S'mores!
