TES Y5 Group 1, Day 1
Dear Parents,
The Y5 camp got off to a great start today as buses arrived right on time and smiling, excited campers made their way off the buses. We had expected cloudy or even rainy weather, but we were all pleasantly surprised by nice warm temperatures and even some blue skies. As soon as campers arrived we took them to their tents to get checked in. After a quick look around we all assembled in the main hall to go over important camp safety rules and to get ready for the first activity. Teams had one activity before lunch and two more after. Teams followed this schedule.
Red Team: Check in, archery, lunch, river tracing, tie dye
Purple Team: Check in, rock climbing, lunch, archery, river tracing
Green Team: Check in, survival, lunch, rock climbing, archery
Brown Team: Check in, giant swing, lunch, survival, rock climbing
Campers are in their final activity rotation of the day currently. After this they will head to the tent areas for showers and a quick rest before dinner. After dinner, campers will write in journals and then it is time for our evening program. Tonight is the opening campfire. We will sing songs, play games, tell stories and roast marshmallows for S'mores.
