We hade four buses of excited campers roll into camp this morning. Most of the campers have been here before and know the routine, so the check-in process went very smoothly and we had them out at their first activity period right on time.
The planned activities for this session are archery, climbing, orienteering, in which campers have to follow direction to clues and solve a puzzle in the end, crafts, ecology, and zip line. In addition to the scheduled team activities, we have two wide games and two evening programs. Wide games are games that the whole school plays together. The evening programs consist of a campfire on the first night and various games on the second.
The teams have the following schedules for today:
Blue team: Zip line, and Ecology
Pink team: Archery and Zip line
Yellow team: Climbing and Archery
Green team: Orienteering and Climbing
Orange team: Crafts and Orienteering
The wide game this afternoon was Sushi Go! It is a modified version of the popular board game to make it an outdoor team game. It is a little difficult to explain here, so I will let your campers tell you about it.
The campers have had their dinner and showers, and we are now just getting ready for our evening campfire. We will sing a few songs, play a few games, and of course, roast marshmallows for smores.
That is all for tonight. Below is a link to some photos. The photos are arranged by team. So that you can find your camper without looking through all the team folders, here is a picture of the team list.
Please note that the password to the blog will change and the links to the photos will be removed when the next school arrives. However, the link will stay active, so if you copy and save the link, you will be able to download the pictures at your convenience.
