Summer 2021 Session 5 Day 1
Dear Parents,
We had a great start to session five. Smiling counselors greeted campers when the buses arrived and soon they had all disembarked. Counselors checked children into their tents and they began to unpack. Campers checked in with the camp nurse and the teams played some ice breaker games and name games to get everyone familiar with one another. Soon, we had all gathered for lunch. Campers then had a midday rest before the afternoon activities. Teams followed this schedule.
Brown Team: Check-in, Lunch/Rest, Archery, River Tracing
Orange Team: Check-in, Lunch/Rest, Tie-Dye, Rock Climbing
Pink Team: Check-in, Lunch/Rest, Rock Climbing, Tie-Dye
Gray Team: Check-in, Lunch/Rest, Rock Climbing, Archery
We had a bit of rain in the afternoon, but just about 10 minutes worth. We were able to keep our regular schedule of activities. Right now, campers are heading back to their living areas to get cleaned up and ready for dinner. After journals tonight, we will have our evening program -- the opening campfire. Songs, games, and roasting marshmallows is a great way to end the first day of camp.
