Summer 2020 Session YS/TS Day 1
Dear Parents,
We had a great start to Summer 2020. Cooler weather than we've had in recent days meant a very pleasant beginning. Buses left Taipei on time this morning and soon campers were on their way to the jungles of Camp Taiwan. Excited counselors awaited the buses at camp and started showing campers around right away. Children met their tent mates and teammates and checked in with the nurse. Teams played warm up games and ice breakers before lunch. Lunch was spaghetti, quesadillas, salad, fruit, soup, potatoes and more. The children needed all that food for their busy afternoon after rest time. We adjusted the afternoon activities a bit due to thunder. We didn't get any rain, but heard the rumbling from the other side of the mountains in Taipei.
The teams ended up following this schedule.
Purple Team: Check in, games, lunch, crafts, cooperative games
Red Team: Check in, games, lunch, board games, rock climbing
Yellow Team: Check in, games, lunch, cooperative games, giant swing
Blue Team: Check in, games, lunch, cooperative games, archery
Gray Team (teens): Check in, games, lunch, cooperative games, archery
Campers are having a quick shower time tonight as the thunder delayed our afternoon activities. After dinner, they will write in their journals and then it is the evening program. Tonight's evening program is the campfire. Kids will play games, sing songs and roast marshmallows for S'mores. A great way to end the first day of Summer 2020!

As for the Dropbox link below, not all folders will have pictures added every day. The first few days, most pictures are sorted by team, not activity. Some activities lead to more picture taking opportunities. If some teams have more pictures than other teams, we will try and even it out by the end of the week (but no promises!!). We do our best, but our main concern is your campers' safety and programming, pictures are a distant fourth or fifth (even though they may be number one to you). Please note, we will not reply to emails about photos. Enjoy.
