Summer 2019 Session 7 Day 2

Dear Parents,
Beautiful weather greeted the campers this morning as they woke to the sounds of chirping birds, rushing river, and the giggles of other campers who had woken up before them. Counselors met at 650 to go over any issues from the night before and soon were off to officially wake the campers and welcome them to the second day of camp. During tent meetings counselors went over the daily schedule with their campers and made sure they had prepared everything for the day ahead. Soon we had all gathered in the dining room for a big breakfast of pancakes, sausages, scrambled eggs, fruit and cereal. It was a fine way to start a busy day. Teams had two activities before lunch and two more after.
Teams followed this schedule.
Red Team: Rock climbing, archery, cooperative games, tent time
Orange Team: Archery, rock climbing, crafts, tent time
Yellow Team: Giant swing, Pilo Pollo, archery, tent time
Pink Team: Pilo Pollo, giant swing, rock climbing, tent time
Brown Team: Ecology, river tracing, Pilo Pollo, tent time
Light Blue Team: River tracing, ecology, giant swing, tent time
Blue Team: Crafts, cooperative games, river tracing, tent time
Mini Campers: Bouldering, shrimping, archery pool play
The last activity of the afternoon for youth campers was tent time. During this time, counselors and their tent group choose their own small activity to do as a group. Many play cards or board games, some play sports or make bracelets. It is a nice time for the kids to hang out in small groups for relaxing games.
Campers will finish the last activity of the day soon and head to showers. Tonight after dinner and journals, mini campers will head to the lodge for some indoor night games. The youth camp evening program is a camp-wide night game. Tuesday is always a long and tiring day and campers tend to get to sleep on time tonight.
Goodbye from Camp Taiwan,
Mike
As for the Dropbox link below, not all folders will have pictures added every day. The first few days, most pictures are sorted by team, not activity. Later in the week (when they begin free choice activities) photos are sorted mainly by activity. Some activities lead to more picture taking opportunities. If some teams have more pictures than other teams, we will try and even it out by the end of the week (but no promises!!). We do our best, but our main concern is your campers' safety and programming, pictures are a distant fourth or fifth (even though they may be number one to you). Please note, we will not reply to emails about photos. Enjoy.
Please find a Dropbox Link below. Photos will be uploaded to this folder every evening -- usually by 8 p.m.
