Morrison Academy Day 1
Dear Parents,
We had a cool, misty start to our Morrison grade 8 camp today. By the afternoon we even had some rain, but there were lots of smiles and laughs as campers alternated outdoor and inside activities. We began the morning at the main road where smiling counselors met campers and led them down to the main hall. Once we had all gathered there, campers were split into their activity groups and made their name tags. We enjoyed a snack while learning about the camp safety rules and before too long, campers were checked into their tents. We had a big lunch, then Morrison teachers led the children through a leadership seminar before we started our activity rotation. The teams today followed this schedule.
Blue Team (Blue Flame): Check in, lunch, lecture, zip line, team building
Green Team (Veggie Tales): Check in, lunch, lecture, team building, zip line
Red Team (Reddit Ralph): Check in, lunch, lecture, archery, rock climbing
Yellow Team (Ray of Light): Check in, lunch, lecture, rock climbing, archery
Campers are in the middle of their second afternoon activity. Afterwards, they will have time for a well-deserved hot shower and rest time before dinner. After dinner and journals tonight is our evening program -- the opening campfire. Students will sing, play games, and, of course, roast marshmallows for S'mores.
