AST Day 1
Dear Parents,
Road-weary campers arrived just before lunch today excited to start their middle school camp. Counselors met the buses at the main road and helped transport students and luggage down to the main hall. We went over the important camp safety rules and then everyone enjoyed a large lunch. As soon as lunch was over, our seventh grade campers headed into the big river for river tracing. The other campers had a short rest before starting the afternoon activity rotation. Teams followed this schedule.
Purple Team (grade 6): Arrival, lunch, craft, zip line
Yellow Team (grade 6): Arrival, lunch, zip line, craft
Blue Team (grade 7): Arrival, lunch, big river tracing
Red Team (grade 7): Arrival, lunch, big river tracing
Brown Team (grade 8): Arrival, lunch, giant swing, archery
Gray Team (grade 8): Arrival, lunch, archery, giant swing
Campers have started their final activity of the afternoon. Later they will have showers and another rest time before returning to the main hall for dinner. After dinner, campers have the opportunity to write about their day in their journals. Our evening program tonight is the opening campfire. We will play lots of games, sing songs, roast marshmallows and, of course, make S'mores!
